I’m Kieran, a documentary wedding photographer based in the Lake District. I want your day to feel completely yours, no posed cheese, just good vibes on a great day. I know what makes for a great wedding day and how having a chill photographer can make it so!

I do everything to give my couples the absolute best experience and a collection of wedding photos that really feels like ‘them’. If this sounds like your vibe, I’d love to hear from you.

The art of candid moments

I used to prefer the term documentary wedding photographer – but I’m beginning to like photojournalism more. The emphasis on journalism reminds me I’m supposed to be telling a story. And watching and listening to that story.

I think that the priorities for documentary wedding photographers are different to conventional wedding photographers. For us telling the story – capturing moments and giving context (a lot of the time in the same image) are more important than the image being aesthetically pleasing.

The first question I always ask is ‘how do I tell this story’… and the photos follow from there.  Which doesn’t mean we aren’t obsessed with georgous light, colour and composition. Just that they aren’t the number one priority. (And combining all three lets us express how it felt to be there on the day)

Natural, relaxed portraits

Along with capturing all the genuine stories and moments of your wedding, you may want to slip away for some couple portraits.

We’ll simply go for a walk, find some beautiful light, and enjoy a quiet moment together before getting you back to the party and your guests.

Where do I begin with these photos… Kieran made everyone feel so comfortable around him, he was so attentive to the children and did a wonderful job of photographing them when they wanted to run wild 😀 Kieran’s photos captured the perfect moments we’d hoped for, he photographed the groomsmen getting ready, the details he pictured were brilliant.
